The latest episode of the Payday Global Payroll Podcast is now live, in which we sit down with Mollie Lombardi, co-founder and CEO of Aptitude Research Partners and passionate payroll analyst, to discuss the convergence of fintech, HR, and payroll, and specifically what it means for the evolving global workforce.
Employees across regions and cultures are changing the way they interact with employers and with employment in general, and it’s natural that employment outcomes like compensation and benefits adapt. However, that requires a reconsideration of how and why individuals work to begin with, a moving target of human understanding that includes worker mobility, flexibility and desire.
“When you talk about what you get paid, it’s putting a number-dollar value on your time, and that can be really emotional,” Mollie explains in the episode. “It’s one thing to translate a dollar figure into a different currency—it’s a whole other thing to translate what payroll and benefits mean to individuals in that culture.
“Employers are looking at this financial data and payroll data to make the right decisions for their companies. Individuals are looking at their payroll and financial data to make the best decisions for themselves as individuals and as families.”
