Going Global: Special Video Episode of the Payday Podcast

Aug 21, 2018  | Topic: Human Resources

There’s a pervasive myth in global payroll that companies can’t have one system across all locations. Groupon begs to differ, having implemented a single HR and Payroll solution across its global footprint. In this episode, Groupon’s Director of Global Payroll, Ricardo Rehkopf, explains how his organization consolidated its payroll to one solution, integrated with a single HR platform, and why he believes other enterprise companies should do the same.

"We had the two systems, HR and payroll, being implemented at the same time, which was very challenging, yet the results we see today by doing that are amazing," Ricardo explains.

One benefit Ricardo highlighted was his team's ability to leverage the same data collection process, so critical to a successful payroll implementation, as part of the HCM and Payroll transformation initiatives.

"The same information we were feeding into the CloudPay payroll implementation was used for configurations we were doing in our HR application. It was precisely the same. So that actually supported, in a way, the things we wanted to have in terms of data being 100% in both systems."

Hear more about how Ricardo and his team transformed their global payroll and HR, and the benefits they enjoy now that they're on a single global solution, in this full-length video episode of the Payday Global Payroll Podcast.

About the Podcast

Payday is the first podcast focused exclusively on the unique challenges, strategic opportunities and technology solutions facing today’s global payroll teams and related enterprise departments. Payroll is a dynamic function, essential for business and often a company’s largest cost centre. Yet payroll is poorly understood and rarely examined, regarded as a budget line item and overlooked as a strategic resource.

However, technological advancements and the evolving global workforce are bringing payroll out of the back office, and encouraging business managers and executive leaders to reconsider the strategic potential of payroll. In each episode of Payday, the Global Payroll Podcast, we’ll dive deeper into the long overdue discussion around the unique challenges, opportunities and trends facing global payroll teams today.
