Position summary

Our fast-growing team in Philippines is looking for Test Manager, who can bring own unique energy and enthusiasm in leading the test team.

Purpose of role:

Test manager works in the product engineering department and the primary role is leading the test team in our Philippines office. Test Manager plays a key role in fulfilling various other responsibilities like defining test strategies & approaches for teams, coordinating testing activities of agile teams, driving test automation, exploring and adapting new trends in agile continuous testing. Test Manager works closely with product owners and development manager to ensure quality of product.

Responsibilities

Test Management:

  • Identifying and implementing suitable Software Testing strategies and approaches
  • Facilitation of inter-team communication across many agile or SCRUM teams
  • Providing technical testing expertise with software testing theories and practices
  • Ensuring the teams implement and follow best practices to prevent defects
  • Improves the quality, reliability & performance of the system and ensure good quality product is delivered
  • Preparation and review of test plans and reports
  • Defining the scope of testing within the context of sprint / release
  • Planning and managing the testing effort for different teams or engagement
  • Coordinate testing activities during every stage of the test process for SCRUM teams
  • Work together with product owners and developers in an agile team towards a common goal and as coordinate with senior executives on testing strategies
  • Being an escalation point for testers
  • Be an advocate of QA throughout the organization
  • Recruitment of Test Analysts and Test Automation Engineers
  • Identify the risk and highlight as necessary

Testing:

  • Analysing the requirements and deriving test scenarios and test cases
  • Execution of test cases
  • Deep testing skills including system testing, functional testing, regression testing, etc
  • Review manual test cases, execute where necessary to understand the low-level detail and identify functions required to script/code
  • Root cause analysis for the bug and communicating the technical details to developers
  • Experience in non-functional or performance testing would be an advantage

Automation:

  • Help the team to develop strategy or approach for Test Automation
  • Driving agile continuous testing across team using automation
  • Researching tools, methods, and technology trends to support test automation objectives
  • Lead team in identifying the modules/test scenarios to be automated based on both the business priority and expected benefit of automated testing
  • Design and develop data-driven test scripts using Selenium WebDriver
  • Execute automation test scripts, analyze result, report bugs from test automation and track the bugs to closure
  • Provide expertise and guide team for maintaining and executing automated test scripts
  • Develop automated API test suites using PostMan

Position Requirements

  • A degree in technical or scientific discipline; preferably software OR relevant
  • More than 8 years of experience in software testing
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing and leading test teams (team size of ~ 8 team members)
  • Good understanding of agile methodologies and experience in leading test team in Agile or Scrum environment
  • Good knowledge about the standard software testing processes and practices
  • Experience in UI Test Automation (preferably open source tools like Selenium)
  • Knowledge and Experience in API testing would be an advantage
  • Good communication skills, to liaise with product owners, development managers and other stakeholders
