Australia Payroll Supervisor | Makati City, Philippines

This is a customer facing role which involves Management and leadership support to the AU Payroll team members in remote location Philippines. This role includes managing customer SLAs, managing Service Partner performance and providing escalation support to the team members.

Provide high quality services to clients, ensuring strong customer satisfaction through meeting of service levels, accuracy of processing, with on-time delivery. Operates as the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues and continuously looks for improvements in operational processes and designs and implements those initiatives.

Attributes and Experience Required:

  • Minimum a basic degree in Payroll, HR, Business administration or Accounting with payroll processing experience or any experiences equivalent.
  • With at least 2 years experience in Supervising or managing a team
  • Strong experience with APAC end to end payroll processing e.g. AU, NZ, HK, TW, KR, JP, CN, SG, PH, CN & etc) and SME functions
  • Understanding of APAC HR & Payroll law and policy, whole payroll processing cycle including filing of government claims and tax submission
  • Experience working in an outsourcing environment or have managed large-in-house payroll headcount in MNC
  • Strong communication skills in English, as this role will highly communicate/deal with clients and international business partner
  • Proficiency in MS Office with strong Excel skills
  • Ability to communicate internationally at all levels


Daily Duties and Main Responsibilities will include:
  • Trusted advisor to Payroll Team Members on Payroll and Statutory Requirements through developing a strong relationship / rapport with Payroll Team Members
  • Manage a high-performance Payroll Team Members with a positive workplace culture through personalized leadership and relationship development
  • Provide payroll training and guidance to team members
  • Act as an escalation contact for customers for general processing
  • Perform payroll performance reviews with customers & team
  • Ensure payroll calendar timelines are adhered to by all parties involved
  • Work with a team to ensure the CloudPay software is developed in line with legislation updates
  • Act as a back-up to the manager during his/her absence on payroll processing issues
  • Promote skills development, performance and career management of Payroll Team Members against Key Performance Indicator
  • Manage delivery of monthly reporting against Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Monitor workload and evaluate Payroll Team Members and review the evaluations/development plans
  • Train Payroll Team Members on new or enhanced operation procedures and policies
  • Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes
  • Cover for Payroll Team members in back-up role for vacation and/or high-volume work efforts
  • Participates in interview process for new hires into Payroll roles
